In the increasingly overloaded lives we lead it can be difficult to find the time to get everything done which can leave us feeling stretched, exhausted and burnt out. Managing your time effectively helps our productivity and mental heath At the end of this course you should be able to: • Prioritise your daily tasks using the Eisenhower matrix • Develop strategies for doing the right thing on the right task at the right time • Create a list of time stealers and time wasters that affect your ability to complete tasks • Identify the main challenges you face when working from home • Manage your energy levels and mindfulness to maximise productivity This course will cover: THE CHALLENGES OF TIME MANAGEMENT Managing your time is not just about using defined tools. They certainly help, but cultivating the right attitude is equally important. That means prioritising your tasks and changing your behaviour. TIME MANAGEMENT TOOLS Look at various time management tools including: • The Eisenhower matrix • Eat your frog • The pomodoro method • The 1-3-5 technique IDENTIFY TIME STEALERS AND TIME WASTERS They may sound the same, but they are different. Time stealers are external and take time away from you – that means managing interruptions. Time wasters are internal and wind up wasting our time – that means managing yourself. THE SCIENCE OF PROCRASTINATION According to the latest research, procrastinating isn’t laziness, it is usually a subconscious attempt to protect ourselves – specifically, by avoiding a task we see as threatening. Learn how to manage this and push forward – even on challenging tasks. MANAGING INTERRUPTIONS It’s hard to refuse certain people – the boss, the CEO etc, but the fact is, managing interruptions is key to good time management. Learn the subtle art of saying no respectfully. LEARNING TO FOCUS Look at techniques for maintaining focus – including taking breaks to clear 'brain-fog'.
