The Founding Idea
Leadership Development Consulting Services (LDCS) was founded in 2008 by facilitator and instructional designer Brendan Barker to show managers how to lead people.
After more than a decade of designing and delivering programs to public and private sectors, Brendan realised that many organisations expect their managers to lead teams of people with diverse personalities, but are never shown how.
Brendan set out to assist these organisations and equip their managers with foundational leadership skills that could inspire an entire workforce to contribute their best.

Translating Leadership Science Into Routine Behaviour
With more than 25 years of experience designing and delivering leadership development programs, LDCS combines rigorous academic research with real-world application.
Holding a Master’s degree in Training and Development from the University of Melbourne, Brendan continues to study modern leadership science and global workplace trends to design programs that are relevant to leaders today.
Rather than teaching abstract leadership theory, LDCS focuses on the people attending, so that the content is relevant to their work and the goals of the organisation.
